Export/Import Properties Between Projects

Use the buttons at the bottom of Options > Property Manager to export and import a project’s Property set (either all properties or just selected ones) between ARCHICAD Projects, from either an XML file or an ARCHICAD file.

Exported data includes the Property Name, Group name, type, default value, and availability. A property’s defined Option Set, if any, is also exported.

•All from Project: Export all Classification Systems.

•Linked to Exported Properties: Export only those Systems having available properties among the properties you are exporting.

4.Click OK.

Include Classifications

•All from Project: Import all Classification Systems.

•Linked to Exported Properties: Import only those Systems having available properties among the properties you are importing.

4.Click OK.

If the imported properties, Classifications and/or Classification Systems already exist in the target project, a dialog box gives you a choice for how to handle them:

Duplicate Properties: If you choose Append, the duplicate properties are imported with a suffix added to their name.

Duplicate Classifications Systems: If you choose Merge, then incoming Classifications that do not yet exist in the project are added to the project. In case of duplicate Classifications, a dialog box again gives you a choice for how to handle them.

Import BIM Content

Property definitions are also imported to your project if you use the Import BIM Content or Download BIM Content commands.

See Import BIM Content.
